July 11-12, 2024 - The Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) is pleased to announce the commencement of the second edition of the Marrakesh Economic Parliamentary Forum for the Euro-Mediterranean Region and the Gulf in Marrakesh, Morocco.
The inaugural day will feature a series of distinguished speakers and ceremonial events. The session will commence with a welcome address by H.E. Sen. Enaam Mayara, PAM President and President of the House of Councillors of the Kingdom of Morocco. Notable addresses will also be delivered by H.E. Mr. Rashid Talbi El Alami, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Kingdom of Morrocco, along with high level speakers and members of the government.
The first day will feature substantive discussions on the Macro-Economic Outlook of the Euro-Mediterranean and Gulf Regions, chaired by Hon. Giulio Centemero (Italy), PAM Vice President and President of the 2nd Standing Committee. International speakers will address the first session on "Ensuring Energy Supply and Green Transition in the Euro-Mediterranean and Gulf regions: Challenges and Opportunities." The Session will be operated by Sen. Dr. Kammar Mrbait, former director general of Morocco AMSSNuR, This session will be followed by the presentation of the "Parliamentarian’s Guide to Protecting the Mediterranean Sea and Coast." The day will conclude with a session on "Funding Your Business Idea," moderated by Hon. Centemero.
On the second day the focus will shift towards advancing discussions on "Entrepreneurship in a Digital World and the Challenge of AI," with presentations led by Hon. Pedro Roque (Portugal), PAM Vice President and President of the 3rd Standing Committee. The final session, moderated by Hon. Mohamed Farid (Egypt), will concentrate on "Innovating Networks as the Key to Prosperity."
The Forum will culminate with a briefing on the outcome of the Extended Advisory Board of the PAM Women Parliamentary Forum and the signing of a cooperation agreement between the WPF and the Parliamentary Network of Women Parliamentarians in Africa and the Arab World. Concluding remarks by the PAM Presidency will reaffirm the Assembly's dedication to advancing peace, stability, and prosperity in the Euro-Mediterranean and Gulf regions. //
