31 January 2025, Villeurbanne, France – Hon. Gabriel Amard, PAM Rapporteur on the Right to Water and Sanitation, graciously extended an invitation to the Secretariat of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) to attend the 2025 New Year’s wishes ceremony, which he hosted. The event, themed “SOS l’eau c’est la vie”, provided a platform for a public discussion on the critical challenges resulting from regional and global developments, the need for peace in the Middle East and Ukraine, as well as to water security and sustainable resource management, underscoring the need for coordinated action at the local, national, and international levels.
PAM will continue addressing global challenges, including food security and water scarcity, contamination, and the imperative for multilateral cooperation to uphold the right to water and sanitation as a human right, essential for the full enjoyment of life and the exercise of all human rights throughout the Euro-Mediterranean and Gulf regions. This commitment is exemplified by the forthcoming report and draft resolution on the right to water and sanitation, which will be presented by Hon. Amard during the PAM 19th Plenary Session, kindly hosted by the Italian Parliament in Rome. //
