PAM is deeply concerned by the unacceptable escalation of violence in the Middle East, including in Gaza, East Jerusalem, and Israel, and urges all actors to exercise maximum restraint to avoid further innocent civilian casualties.
PAM fully shares the concerns and sorrow expressed by the United Nations Secretary-General about the high number of civilian casualties, including many children.
PAM joins the calls of the international community for immediate de-escalation and an urgent diplomatic solution to the current situation.
PAM remains committed to continue utilizing parliamentary diplomacy, and work with all relevant actors, to support efforts aimed at a lasting peace in the region, and the prompt resumption of dialogue to achieve a sustainable Two-State solution between Israel and Palestine.
