From 15 to 20 July, 2017, a Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) high level delegation will be on an official visit to the Middle East, which includes Amman, Ramallah and Jerusalem.
The delegation, led by PAM President, Hon. Pedro Roque, consists of more than 30 parliamentarians from 11 PAM member states, the Secretary General, Amb. Sergio Piazzi, and a number of advisers.
The delegation will hold a series of high level meetings with representatives and senior officials of National Parliaments, Authorities and representatives of agencies of the United Nations, including the UNIFIL Commander. The delegates will also pay a visit to the Syrian refugee Camp of Zaatari in Jordan.
Topics on the agenda include the latest developments in the Syrian crisis and the refugee problem in Jordan. Other regional issues include the Israeli-Palestinian Peace Process, Water supplies in Gaza, and international assistance to economic development in the region.
