Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean
Message for the Day of Commemoration
in Memory of the Holocaust
27 January 2018
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean has fought and will continue to fight through its role and participation in international fora the return of the seeds of extreme hatred and anti-Semitism. Today we remember the six million Jewish men, women and children who perished in the Holocaust.
The world is experiencing the persistence of anti-Semitism and an increase in other forms of prejudice, with Neo-Nazis and white supremacy groups taking advantage of the fast changes and developments that nations and continents are going through.
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean will leave no stone unturned against the normalisation of hate because where humanity’s values are abandoned, the risk of extremism prevails.
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean with the collaboration of national parliaments will continue the promote the best legislative tools to safeguard respect, equality, tolerance and peace among populations, never to experience again the inexplicable atrocities the Jewish have had to suffer.
