The President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, Senator Francesco Amoruso (Italy) today addressed the Presidential Ceremony on the occasion of the adoption of the Tunisian Constitution held at the National Constituent Assembly in Tunis.
In his personal invitation to Sen. Amoruso, the President of the National Constituent Assembly of Tunisia, H.E. Mustapha Ben Jaafar, underlined the contribution and the continued support of PAM to the “Tunisian revolution” and the attention dedicated to the democratic transitional process.
In his message for the occasion, the PAM President said that the new constitution of Tunisia is an example to follow, and is a sign of hope for the entire region. “PAM not only considers the importance of this text, but also the achievement in overcoming the obstacles to reach a consensus that respects the Tunisian identity and of all the members of society”, Sen. Amoruso added.
“Tunisia is at the heart of all of our actions and future projects. We have established a direct link between your democratic success and your economic development, and for the construction of a prosperous and united Mediterranean space”, the PAM President concluded.
