PAM President joins the UN Secretary-General in welcoming the announcement of the Declaration of Algiers, signed by 14 Palestinian factions, on 13 October 2022.
The Declaration represents a positive step towards intra-Palestinian reconciliation, and it is an encouraging sign that differences can be overcome through dialogue and peaceful cooperation.
PAM strongly encourages the parties to follow up with the commitments included in the Declaration, especially the holding of new elections.
Palestinian reconciliation is crucial for a politically stable, economically viable, sovereign and independent State of Palestine.
To this end, the Assembly wishes to commend the efforts of President Abdelmajid Tebboune.
In addition, PAM reiterates its position that a Two-State solution is the only viable for both Israelis and Palestinians to live side by side, within safe and recognized borders, in peace and security, in accordance with the relevant UNSC Resolutions, respecting the legitimate ambitions and security needs of all.//
