PAM Presidency Statement on the Resolution of the Maritime Boundary Dispute Between Lebanon and Israel

PAM President joins the UN Secretary-General in welcoming the announcement that the Governments of Lebanon and Israel agreed to establish a permanent and mutually acceptable maritime border demarcation, as mediated by the United States.

This represents an encouraging development, which will clearly benefit the stability, prosperity and wellbeing not only of the Lebanese and Israeli peoples, but also of the Euro-Mediterranean community.

In addition, PAM reiterates its full commitment to assist the United Nations and the parties in the effective implementation of UNSC Resolution 1701 (2006), and the other relevant resolutions, essential to the stability of the region.//
