The Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean conveys the most profound sympathies to the families, and expresses the condolences to the Egyptian Parliament and Police Forces following the terrorist attack claimed by the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) group that killed eight Egyptian policemen in the restive Sinai Peninsula on Wednesday (June 5), as the country marked the Islamic holiday of Eid al-Fitr.
PAM takes the opportunity to reaffirm its solidarity with Egypt in this particular moment, and also in view of the efforts being done at the national and international level to achieving peace, security and prosperity in the region.
PAM continues to promote and support the international community in its obligations and efforts to contrast any strategy aimed at perpetrating destabilization and sow hatred and conflicts.
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean is highly concerned, but hopeful and committed to strengthen its mission in support of all measures to counter any form of extremism and terrorism, which are causing so much suffering to the innocent civilian population across borders.
