A strategic Memorandum of Understanding among the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM), the Chamber of Commerce of Salerno, INNEXTA and the University of Salerno was signed on 13 October 2021.
“This agreement is a significant step for the promotion of economic cooperation among PAM member countries” affirmed PAM President, Hon. Gennaro Migliore.
Hon. Giulio Centemero, Co-President of the PAM Economic Panel, highlighted that “One of the key projects planned during the study days in Milan on 4 and 5 July 2019 on Alternative Capital Markets to support SMEs and Start-Up has now been realised. He further indicated that this agreement is the first step of a wider collaboration that will activate synergies between the actors involved, with a view to promote the establishment of a fintech and crowdfunding hub in the Euro-Mediterranean and Gulf area, creating opportunities for businesses and encourage investment in the two regions.
By networking all the crowdfunding portals existing in the countries involved and all the business incubators and accelerators, all the regulatory requirements of the different countries will also be put in place. The ambition is to create a platform – aggregator that in an embryonic phase will serve to showcase the most virtuous fintech companies in the various countries involved, while in an advanced phase it will serve as a meeting point between investors and entrepreneurs or aspiring entrepreneurs. The aggregator will have the task of bringing together, in a single non-physical place, supply and demand from the entrepreneurial fabric of the countries bordering the Mediterranean.
The next events organised by PAM on the “Post-COVID19 Economic Recovery” and the “WTO/PAM Parliamentary Forum on Economic Cooperation and Tourism”, to be held in Turkey and Montenegro in 2022 respectively, will provide an appropriate scenario to illustrate to Member Countries the potential of this platform and to make it operational.//
