PAM contributes to the conference “Which future for Lebanon”, organized at the European Parliament

Brussels, Belgium, 27 June 2023 – The Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) participated in the conference “Which future for Lebanon - The role of the European Union in advancing human rights in Lebanon”, hosted by the European People’s Party (EPP), at the European Parliament.

Hon. Pedro Roque (Portugal), PAM Vice-President and President of the 3rd Standing Committee, represented the Assembly.

In his intervention, Hon. Roque stressed the need for functioning governmental and parliamentary institutions in Lebanon, which are transparent, accountable, committed, and at the service of the citizens, in order to ensure the country’s stability and improve the wellbeing of Lebanese people.

Lebanon is a founding member of the Assembly, and its social, economic and financial prosperity is paramount to contribute to regional stability and security.

PAM is committed to assist European institutions in any projects aimed at advancing political, socio-economic, and human progress in Lebanon, and building a brighter future for the country and its people.//
