The Standing Bureaus of the two chambers of the Parliament of Romania approved its affiliation
to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean and its representation by a permanent
delegation.
Parliaments of countries that are geographically situated near the Mediterranean or that have
common interests with the region can participate in the work of the Assembly as Associate
Members, while Inter-parliamentary and other international organizations that are active in the
Mediterranean region may contribute as Observers.
The Head of the Directorate for the Relations with the International Parliamentary Organizations,
Ms. Nadia Ionescu, said that the Parliament of Romania is currently approaching legislative
elections and that the new members are expected to start their activity within PAM in December.
