The Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) expresses its strong condemnation of and severe concerns over the multi-front terrorist assaults by Hamas militants against Israeli towns and cities near Gaza, and the barrage of rockets across central Israel, as well as the following escalation of violence, which is resulting in many civilian deaths and casualties, including an unknown number of people being kidnapped inside the Strip.

PAM urgently calls for the parties involved to use maximum restraint and for Hamas to stop the heinous terrorist attacks against innocent civilians immediately. Our thoughts are with all those under fire, all the first responders and those defending against these brutal attacks.

Only dialogue and cooperation among all parties involved are the way towards the achievement of the Two-State Solution.

PAM is ready to support any regional and international initiatives, aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace between Israel and Palestine, based on the relevant signed agreements and UN Security Council Resolutions.//
